Abstract :
Background and Objectives: Cognitive flexibility is one of the most important variables that correlates with mental health problems. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between cognitive flexibility and resilience with coping strategies in adolescents.
Methods: The research method is descriptive. The research population was all of pre-university girl students studied in the ardestan city in 2016-2017. For sample selection, 202 peoples was selected based on morganˊs table using stratified random sampling from schools. At the next stage, after filling out the questionnaires, they were excluded from the research due to lack of emotional failure syndrome, and this number was reduced to 110. The criteria for entering the study were included: having emotional relationships with the other gender, having a failure experience, satisfaction with cooperation in completing the questionnaires. The people participated in research by completing the cognitive flexibility, coping strategies and resilience scales.
Results: The finding showed there was a significant positive correlation between cognitive flexibility and resilience, and with increasing cognitive flexibility, the level of resilience increased. Also, there was a positive correlation between cognitive flexibility and effective coping strategies and significant negative correlation with ineffective coping strategies.
Conclusion: In conclusion, the necessity of conducting workshops for girl with love trauma syndrome for increasing the use of flexibility and effective coping strategies has been presented.
